Shellback Tactical Banshee Rifle Plate Carrier
The Banshee Rifle Plate Carrier is designed to meet and exceed the needs of law enforcement, military, and tactical operators. Built from durable 500D Cordura nylon, the Banshee offers exceptional mobility, adjustable fit, and mission-ready load-carrying capability without unnecessary bulk. The shoulders on the Banshee Rifle plate carrier are fully adjustable and padded for comfort. There are two rows of PALS webbing on each shoulder with elastic nylon sewn in between which allows routing for comms and hydration tubing. The Banshee Rifle Plate Carrier comes standard with a removable cummerbund. Cummerbund runs through the carrier, is fully adjustable (one size fits most) and has PALS webbing on the interior and exterior to accept side plates or other pouches. Also standard is a secondary nylon strap system with quick release buckles (also removable) if the cummerbund is not needed. Banshee Carrier
I was issued the Shellback Banshee when I joined my departments Special Response Team. The carrier was probably 10 years old or better and it had been through the ringer, who knows how many others had it before it came to me. Even with the hard use I could not find any major wear. The stitching was all still intact and the velcro fields still had plenty of life left in them. The downside to the original Banshee is that there is very little padding and gets very uncomfortable after a while of wearing it. With that said, the addition of the shoulder pads sold here make it a new vest and very comfortable for multiple hours of use. It really is a great carrier and can withstand a lot of abuse.

As advertised, maybe even better
I'm almost an old man - 100% out of shape and not in exactly the best environment but let me say this about this piece of gear - it doesn't make me super human but it does make me prepared. Prepared in the sense that when I add on the MOLLE ammo pouches to the front and a hydration system on the rear, that I now have a load bearing system that I can adjust the plates that I'm carrying and vary the load out configuration. I'm very impressed with the ability to remove the cummerbund and the ability to use the quick disconnect clips in the shoulders "as needed". For an old man that wants a level of comfort, consistency and reliability in gear and equipment, I would recommend this. You élite types out there, this might not be for you - but for the average citizen bumping up the "being ready" meter - this is 100% a great foundational piece of gear.
