So far, so good. Well built, concealable, and does it's job. Also very comfortable. I'm probably going to only use IIIA soft armor in mine, but it can easily carry hard plates and still remain quite low profile. Definitely recommend.
Carrier construction is good. I’ve been using it to work out with RMA 1155 LVL 4 plates and the cummerbund is starting to give out after only a few weeks of use. The elastic is starting to pop in places and retention is deteriorating. It still fits right for now but I will have to get another cummerbund to continue using it for working out. I may just end up going back to my banshee 2.0 for working out in. Overall I do recommend this product maybe just not for working out in.
Really pleased with the carrier great product for the price and it is in stock which is great. Have not had any complaints or issues and would highly recommend it. It is exactly what you would need to for a low-vis look.
I have had this carrier for months now. Plenty of time to give my honest review. Right out of the box this carrier is ready to rock and roll! I love how Shellback includes the kangaroo pouch for two mags. The kangaroo pouch under the cummerbund keeps this carrier nice and streamline. You can run this carrier under a jacket to be discrete or run and gun in it keeping you agile. It can take all the abuse! The carrier has two elastic pouches on each side. Perfect place for a slim IFAK, tourniquet, radio, and spare mags oh and candy bars lol. I’m on the slim side, if you run mags on the side elastic pouches they do not jab into my ribs. The quality of this carrier is 10/10. Shoulder straps are non slip material that fit comfortably. The inside is made from a mesh backpack style material. Which allows air to circulate well when you start sweating. The mesh also provides some extra padding if you don’t run plate backers. I do not run steel plates but the velcro will definitley handle the weight of steel and will fit any plate style cut. This carrier has plenty of room to run backers as well. The Velcro is very strong and will last a long time. I really can’t find anything to complain about with this Low Viz carrier. It’s marketed at a better price than the Trex Arms AC1 low viz carrier. Plus Shellback includes the kangaroo pouch for two mags! If I HAD to find something to complain about which I can’t. It would be cool if they included some kind of bands to hold the extra slack of shoulder straps if your running them tight because you’re slim. Bigger fellas won’t know what I’m talking haha but these straps will fit all sizes. You could cut the extra slack but I’m currently using Bobby pins to hold the shoulder strap slack together. I highly recommend this carrier. If you’re debating between the Trex Arms AC1 , Shellbacks Stealth Low Viz, or LAPG’s low viz carrier. I would purchase Shellback's! This carrier can be modified to fit all needs. I’m running Shellbacks flap sac. Which has an insert for abdominal armor. It fits plenty of medical supply and an extra tourniquet. You can also run side armor inserts for your flanks. 10/10 Shellback!
Im a pretty no-nonsense guy. I bought this plate carrier for working in more covert roles, so I don’t need to load it up with extra pouches and things. I have other carriers for that. And for what it’s designed for this thing is awesome. It’s probably the most comfortable carrier I’ve ever worn and I love the built in admin pocket on the chest. If you’re looking for adaptability, this probably isn’t for you, but if you’re looking for sweet and simple and comfortable this is the way to go. I can carry all my spare mags, medical equipment, and a radio just fine while still remaining low profile. Definitely would recommend this to a friend.
This is my first plate carrier. I've heard good things about Shellback. But when I was installing my plates the stiching on the velcro on the back tore like wet paper... or it's really strong velcro. Took a closer look, all of the velcro is only single stitched. Would think it would be double or triple stitched for the level of quality claimed on this website, although this is a cheaper item. Certainly an area of opportunity for the product. I've only just contacted them to have it repaired or replaced; I'm hopeful they will take of it. Just a bummer to get a brand new carrier and have it fail directly out of the package. Overall, I don't have anything to compare it to, but it feels/fits well and looks decent... minus the thread pulling out. Color: tan Plates: level 4 ceramic 6'2 175lbs
As I search for the ideal vest - I bought this. It is too small for broad chested folks. However - the wife absolutely loves it and it fits her great. I mean really!
I’ve had it for a week now. I stuffed some RMA 1155’s into it, because the world is a crazy place right now. The weight of even those heavy plates are managed well by the design. The sewing and materials seem good to go. My only complaint is about the Velcro on the shoulder straps. I’m a very chesty 250lbs and only about the last inch of hook side engages with the loop side - the rest of the 6” tapes hang uselessly as extra at the ends of straps that were designed way too long. I’ve bought some more tape to sew on, where it will be useful, and I’ll likely shorten the straps a bit. After those couple changes, I think it’ll be good to go.
Ok, so I have to wear this just about every day at work. This is by far the most comfortable plate carrier I've had. It is easy to take on and off. It is also super comfortable and has zero bulk. Coworkers are jealous and I keep telling them to stop being cheap and just buy one. It's worth every penny.
