The Shellback Tactical Apex GT Armor Plate is a super lightweight ICW plate that provides level III+ special threat protection. The APEX GT is the upgraded version of our original APEX ICW plate and provides level III+ protection against the M855 greentip. This plate is designed to be worn in-conjunction with level II, Level IIIA or Stab/Spike soft armor. The Apex GT is super thin with a multi-curve configuration (.75 in), weighs in at only 3.9lbs and can easily be inserted into your soft armor duty vest for level III+ rifle protection. ICW with AP protection
I snagged one of these to use while on duty. I added it to my Safariland duty vest which has level IIIA soft armor. Live in rural area so having rifle protection is a must. Super lightweight. I often forget I have it own. Our department is now issuing these plates.
