This is by far the most comfortable and well built rig set up that I have ever used and had. I am extremely pleased with the products and will be helping promote it to the people I know. I won’t go with anything else.

Without actually having to subject myself to a 7.62x39 round, I will contend the plates will work as expected. They are somewhat heavy, but that's not too big a deal. I can use the workout. My only issue is that they may be big for the carrier. I'm running the Banshee Tactical 1st generation rig which runs somewhat small to begin with, with the stock soft armor, it's fine. However, when replaced with the 1155 level IV plates, they do take up additional space from a sizing perspective. The plates fit fine in their slots, however, as mentioned they do impact the overall rig/ carrier sizing. This is more of a carrier issue however. Still, with that said, the plates do seem a great value for the price. Furthermore, customer service was exceptional. I spoke with a gentleman on a few occasions prior to placing the order, he went above and beyond. Shipment was within a week, even with everything going on. Shellback seems to be an exceptionally run company which I would not hesitate to do business with again.

Finally found level IV NIJ ceramic plates at a prince that didn't break the bank! Great quality and a very comfortable and familiar fit.

This is my first time to buy a ballistic plate so I do not really have a good insight about them other than the information I gathered from other reviews. Regardless, the product came in promptly as promised by Shellback. It came in a well packaged boxed with the plates individually wrapped with bubble wrap. No damages nor “blemish” whatsoever. Each plates weighed around 8 lbs each which is really hefty holding it by hand. Surprisingly, once inserted in the carrier, and wearing it, the total weight is very much manageable. It appears and feels that it will serve the purpose it was intended to do which is to stop common handgun/rifle rounds.

I have bought both these plates and the level 4 4S17 plates, for the price this is a solid plate. Finding plates right now is hard, finding quality plates right now is almost impossible. Also, you have to be careful because a lot of sites claim to be NIJ but when you go to the site, they are nowhere to be found, which is why I trust Shellback. You can find steel plates, but stay away from them and stick with ceramic. I have 6 deployments under my belt, so I know enough about plates to know what I like. This plate is heavy at 8.2 pounds, but for the price it is what it is, it’s solid, well made, and quality. If you want something a touch lighter spend a little more and get a 4S17 or above. If you’re going to spend hours in your kit, it makes sense to spend more to get lighter plates, but if you’re like me, and just making sure you have a solid set of plates for whatever contingency comes up, this is a great deal. Add in the 10 year warranty and this is a deal you can’t pass up. I had a great experience with Shellback, and I will definitely buy again.
